About Us: Credits to contributors

Indictrans is a voluntary group without any commercial or financial bindings. It is based on a lot of free softwares created by the GNU community which deserves the primary credit.

We are a start-up as social entrepreneur . We aim at building 'social capital' through making the communication and networking feasible and affordable among the people knowing indian languages. This we believe is a primary requirement for a democratic regeneration of our society as also a condition for harmonious globalisation.

For doing this we need social support in every form.

Following is a list of some members ( as in May 2004) who have contributed to the mission, project and website. The list is not exhaustive. We are not aware of what contributions have been made by exactly whom , as is natural in the case of free software.

Amish, Pallavi and Vibha,Sachin Chavan, Komal Bahuman have contributed in initial stages and have become busy with their personal persuits.

VIA Technologies have granted a score of computers for the cause of affordable computing which indictrans team has been gratefully using for more than 3 months.

We owe a lot to Dr. G. Nagarjun of FSF India for constant technical help .

We are indebted to IndLinux group ( www.indlinux.org) for a lot of multilingual intiatives including indLinux CD they brought out , based on Morphix. We are using the same as our starting point to devise a broader collaboration and to devise the self booting CDs.

A number of students of IIT have been constant support and troubleshooters for us.

Credit goes to Nirav Mehta for providing space for our website.
